We're Back!

It's only been two days, but we're so happy to be back together again and have done so much! Here are some of the highlights:

  • We "greened up" Bennet Road and School Road on Monday (a perfect expedition on a windy day). Ask your child about all of the weird things we found on the side of the road. Don't worry, teachers handled the really dirty things, and everyone wore gloves!
  • We (along with kindergarten and 1st grade) planted 30 trees and shrubs in the field next to Wildwood Forest. They're small now, but in a few years the field will look like a much different place!
  • We read The Three Billy Goats Gruff a couple of times, and did some story acting.
  • We "read" wordless books, and added our own narration.
  • We noticed the many changes in the forest that happened during the week we were away.
Finally, Green Up Day is THIS SATURDAY! We typically try to get a group of families together to help green up around the school, but this year the pre-k did it on our own. There's still plenty of town roads left to green up though! I'll have trash bags available at school on Thursday and Friday for families who are interested in participating.

It was a cold and windy day on Monday, but eating lunch in the sun was soooo pleasant.

Buddy time, digging big holes!

Sidewalk chalk was a big hit on Tuesday. This kiddo loves writing :)

Writing on vertical surfaces is a great way to help develop fine motor skills.

So happy to be together again!

The block area has a new look, and some very interested builders.

Working together to fight space aliens.
