We had such a fun week exploring shadows and light, preparing for our solstice celebration (lanterns! songs!) and playing in this wonderful SNOW.
If you're looking for last minute holiday gift ideas for your kiddo, here are some pre-k teacher suggestions:
- child scissors (and things to cut up!)
- glue sticks or Elmer's glue
- colored masking tape (this is a VERY popular item in our art center)
- pipe cleaners
- kids hole punchers
- a new book
These items are all lots of fun, and great for your child's learning and development.
Enjoy some pictures from the week!
We have a natural fire-fighter's pole next to our climbing stump.
It takes a lot of courage to reach out and grab!
There are other fun ways to get down from the stump too...
We're so excited that there's snow for sledding!
What great opportunity for waiting your turn :)
Our new shadow puppet theater is very popular.
We started the week with puppets that helped retell the story of the Three Billygoats Gruff.
Then we made puppets of our own, and created our own stories.
Our Fourth Grade Buddies have visited a few times this week. Here we are practicing a couple of songs for our solstice celebration.
They also came to help us paper mache our lanterns.
The ever-popular sculpture bin is leading to some really fun creations. (Send more materials!!!)
Climbing snow banks is one of our all-time favorite winter activities - so much balance required! So tricky, yet so fun.
Woodworking in winter - we're still going...
Have a wonderful weekend!
