It's been a busy and joyful week in pre-k. Thank you all for coming to our Solstice Celebration - it's so special to be out in the woods at night, and to enjoy a little light with all of you.
Holidays can be sooooo exciting for kids, and that excited energy can sometimes boil over. If your child is seeming less regulated than normal it might be a nice time to revisit how you establish boundaries. Here's a one minute video of parenting expert Dr. Becky describing what a boundary is. Take a quick watch!
Enjoy the story of our week, in pictures of course...
The cold weather on Monday and Tuesday was perfect for making ice.
These ornaments decorated Wildwood Forest...
Our ice lanterns weren't quite enough to protect a candle from the wind, but they were pretty!
Getting all the lanterns ready for the solstice party!
Farmer Sarah set up her grain mill and we had fun grinding corn
When the weather cooperates we're still doing our story time outside. The gym mats are great insulation from the cold snow!
We quickly discovered that ice is VERY fun to smash.
A new story this week...these kiddos are enjoying a rendition of The Mitten.
Instruments in the snow - why not?
Farmer Sarah helped us make bread on Friday.
We kneaded the dough
The Friday rain made for one of our most fun outside days yet!
The puddles were immense.
Adventure time
We ended the morning with a beautiful potion, mixed up by multiple hands.
And we'll leave you with pre-k singing "I Like Winter" at our All School Meeting on Wednesday. Click on the link to watch the video!
