What a week! From fresh snow to high winds, we really fared some weather. I'll keep it light this week with lots of pictures, but here are just a couple of notes:
*Don't forget to sign up for a conference here, or to contact me to arrange a time to meet.
*Please, when you're dropping off your child turn off the engine to your car - our school is an idle-free zone. Young lungs are developing!
*I'm sure you got the email from Mr. G about remote school the week of November 16. I'm figuring out what this will mean for pre-k and will let you know asap.
We've enjoyed lots of deep breathing this week, a practice that centers kids and teachers alike. I hope you all at home have an opportunity to take deep breaths as well. While you do, you can picture your children playing with friends in the forest.
Snow before Halloween? These kids loved it!
We took a hike out to Mt. Everest, and crossed our favorite log along the way. Much more challenging with slippery snow!
A moose in the snow.
Instead of face painting for Halloween we became woodland animals a different way...

Still hanging in there with our outdoor eating. We call it "building grit".
To the great excitement of the class we started Forest Jobs this week.
The "Forest Friend" gets to take care of one of our finger puppets. As you can imagine it's a coveted job!
Circle time around the fire kept us a bit warmer.
I spy!
This leaf snowball survived through the weekend!
These beavers (check out their tails) worked on building their lodge.
On Tuesday we helped Farmer Sarah make a new lasagna garden bed.
We layered cardboard and leaves on the bottom...
...and compost on top.
