Rockin' Rebeccas

Music is in the air! Our class band the "Rockin' Rebeccas" is having so much fun learning and singing each other's songs. We're so grateful to our visiting musicians for helping these pre-k works of genius come to life. The recordings below captured the original songwriting session, so you'll hear mostly adult voices. But come to our family sing along on Wednesday at 5:00 to hear the (somewhat) rehearsed pieces.

Matt Valentine of Wet Tuna and MV and EE came last Wednesday to get us started. He ushered these beauties into the world:

The Orca and The Seal

Carly's Taking A Dirt Bath

Rebecca Mouse's Babies

Stars Can Die (Neil Young Version)

Beetle

On Thursday Chelle Martinez of Midnight Betty and the Rear Defrosters brought her sweet singing and inspiration...

The Spider's Dream

Adventure Wormy

A Nest

Stars Can Die - Pop Version

Ants

And on Friday we wrapped it up with Mike Roberts of The Rear Defrosters and Wooden Dinosaur

Rebecca Mouse

Rainbow

Black Beetle Where Are You

Inchy

A Moth Flies On An Adventure On A Leaf

We LOVE singing all of these songs, and I'm sure you're hearing some of them at home as well. We can't wait to share them with you next week!

In other news...we're incubating eggs! We're on day 10, with a hopeful hatching date of Monday-Wednesday June 2-4. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

And here are just a few more pictures from the past two weeks:

Thanks Lyndsey for the fun energy ball recipe - we loved them!

We had such a fun visit to Oak Grove Pre-k. New toys, new friends!

We've been making lots of instruments - these kiddos are painting rhythm sticks.

Our cardboard guitars are a big hit...

AND, we found a tiny saxophone for Rebecca Mouse!
