We're Thankful For...

We've had fun talking about the upcoming holiday, and thinking about things we're thankful for. This group of kids is thankful for a lot, including parents, grandparents, rice, and ketchup!

Brrr…it’s getting cold out there! And that means we’re into the season of hats, mittens,  boots, and warm layers. We’ll do our best on this end to send kids home with the things they came to school with, but please forgive any mix-ups! We would greatly appreciate if hats and mittens are labeled.

Are you interested in having us attach your child’s mittens together with string? They can then be fed through the sleeves of their jacket, and are much easier to keep track of. Finn’s mom Valerie has offered some materials and support, so if you’re interested let us know!

This week we’ve been learning more about bread. We have used a mortar and pestle to grind wheat into flour, we’ve used a flour mill to grind wheat and corn into flour, we’ve followed a recipe to make play dough, and we’ve played with “cloud dough” in our sensory table.

Our outside time has included some play with ropes and pulleys, and some time getting our fire pit ready for the fires we plan to make next month!

It's hard work grinding flour!

We'll use the flour to bake corn bread on Friday.

Rope is a wonderful "loose part" to have in the woods.

Making a dog run - now we just need a dog!

What can we deliver in this bucket?
