We had a wonderful field trip to the Franklin Farm on Wednesday. Thanks to all the family members who were able to come, and our excellent sixth grade friends! We got to see the tubing connecting all the maple trees, the collection tanks, and the evaporator in action. We also got to taste some fresh maple syrup!
On Thursday afternoon we worked with our Farm To School coordinator Sarah to prepare granola for the entire school. Our harvest of the month food is maple syrup, and we made enough granola to give everyone a little taste. We handed it out on Thursday afternoon with our fourth grade buddies. Look in the school newsletter for more information and a recipe.
Our kindness work continues, with a new focus on forgiveness and for feeling gratitude. We have done some activities around forgiving ourselves, and forgiving our friends if they make a mistake. Instead of immediately apologizing when we make a mistake, we check in with the person we hurt by saying “I didn’t mean it, are you okay?” It can be hard to forgive a friend, but we’re practicing!
Finally, don’t forget to contact the office to sign up for conferences. We have an early release on Friday March 23, and Monday March 26. I hope to get a chance to meet with you all.

The snowbanks have been so much fun to climb on, slide down, and use in a whole host of imaginative ways.
