Rain, Sun, Mist, Clouds

We seem to have quite a few announcements this week, but before I get to those let me tell you how hard your kids have been working these past few days. We’ve been focusing on the theme of “me” this week, making All About Me books, and reading stories about how people are similar and different. We’ve also introduced some new materials, including finger paints, dot markers, and easel paints in the woods.

Announcements:
Don’t forget that TONIGHT is our open house. We’ll be out in the woods (weather pending) from 5:30-6:00, then will have a quick meeting in the gym before enjoying a pot luck dinner together in the cafeteria.

Book Order:
Remember Scholastic book orders from when you were a kid? We still do them! The order form is in this week’s folder. If you’d like to order some books, feel free to do so online using the classroom code, or send in an order form and money. The orders are due by Friday October 5th.

Smart Snacking with Kids:
Community Collaborative for Guilford is hosting a family event on Thursday October 4th from 5:30-7:00. Families are invited to join UVM Extension’s Nutrition Educator Bonnie White in an interactive workshop about ways to engage kids in healthy snacking. Childcare and dinner is provided!

Bus Updates:
Starting Monday the morning bus run will pick kids up 5 minutes earlier. Remember to be at the bus stop 5 minutes before the scheduled arrival time (which is now 5 minutes earlier - make sense?).
