Music, Sound, and More!

A cold and wet week, but you wouldn’t know it with these intrepid kids. We’ve had a lot of fun continuing with our exploration of music and sound. Here are a few fun things we’ve worked on:
  • We made a “sound garden” out in the woods, complete with hanging pipes, pots, and sticks for the kids to experiment with.
  • Our school behaviorist, Ms. Bohl, brought in her cello to play for us.
  • We continued to make instruments, and will have a parade through the school on Friday morning.
  • We made tin can telephones.
  • We started working on a large wind chime that we’ll hang in our rain shelter.
  • We continue to learn new songs and sing lots of old favorites.

Outside the realm of music, we’ve been having fun with a new “vet clinic” in our dramatic play area. Caleb and Collin’s mom Sarah brought in some bandaging equipment from her vet office, and helped the kids set fractures and bandage wounds on their stuffies.

Everyone who wanted to got a chance to hold the spotted salamander that Joan brought in.

We lashed a log between two trees to make our "sound garden"

Have any old pots or spoons to donate? We'd take 'em!

Our vet clinic was a very popular spot.

Look at those well-cared-for animals!

Ms. B played her cello for us on Tuesday.
