Eat The Rainbow

We’ve had such fun this past week learning about nutrition, and ways to take care of our bodies. We’ve tried fruits and vegetables all different colors of the rainbow, and are having fun keeping track of our fruit and veggie intake at snack and lunch. We’ve laminated the same charts that were sent home to you, and are now using them as placemats. It’s so fun to see the kids’ motivation. Thanks for sending in such wonderful snacks for your kids this week!

To kick off our “5 A Day” challenge Sarah came in to help us prepare a special snack of a rice cake with cream cheese or hummus and rainbow veggies on top. What beautiful snacks!

We’re also continuing to develop our doctors office. Thanks to Eleanor’s family we’ve added REAL x-rays, and we also started making a cardboard ambulance. On Friday we’ll have a visit from local pediatrician Liz Richards, who is going to teach how she does a check up on babies.

Next week we’ll send home first semester progress reports. Each report will contain information about your child’s development and progress since the beginning of the year. I really love writing up these reports because I get to reflect on what wonderful children you all have!

These doctors take care of sick babies, and do hair!

We've started a circle time graphics practice with our slate boards and chalk. We're working on building good motor patterns from the start!

A delicious snack!
