Is it spring?!? We're not holding our breaths, but sure are enjoying the warmth. We've started washing our hands with water instead of hand sanitizer before eating, and aren't using our eating gloves or warming cooler. Thank you for still sending your child in snow pants in the morning - it's been chilly in Wildwood Forest until about lunch time.
A couple of reminders that come along with the warmer weather:
*Don't forget to do your tick checks every night! Ticks are out, and they're tiny. Check all the spots.
*Speaking of ticks, if you want your child to wear bug spray please put it on them before they get to school in the morning. We're happy to re-apply mid-way through the day. Same goes for sun screen.
*It's almost April! If you want to fill out an April menu make sure to grab one from us, or let us know and we'll send one home. Otherwise we're happy filling out a menu for you based on our observations of your child's eating habits (Bridget has it down!).
Enjoy some pictures from the week :)
We're starting some new engineering exploration and play, starting with pvc pipes, connectors, buckets, and acorns. There was lots of experimentation on Monday and Tuesday!
Strong grip on our swinging vine
Kristine brought some skinny apple branches from home that were perfect for fort building.
It took a lot of determination and teamwork to build up the fort!
Friends lying in the sun in a new cozy spot.
More treasures uncovered from the snow - a gourd "kitty" appeared on Monday, and was quickly smashed open with this special stick.
The paints aren't frozen!
Look - no mittens!
This spider got quite a nice ice bath.
Puddles started thawing around 9:30 am, which created many opportunities for scooping, transferring, cooking and creating.
One of our small group activities involved hiding, finding, and counting acorns. So many great mathematicians!
