The wind has been fierce this week, keeping us on our toes. Continue to send your kids to school with warm clothes in the morning. Even though it's getting warm out there, the overnight lows are still in the 30s and 40s, and it stays cold in Wildwood Forest all morning. When in doubt, put them in snow pants!
We started a new theme of doctor this week. The interest in doctors has been strong all year long, and so we're running with the enthusiasm. On Monday Kristine worked with a group of kids to set up a doctor's office in a forest nook. There's a waiting room, sick beds, intake center, and some good doctor tools. The kids have loved taking turns as the doctor, patient, and nurse. They have written prescriptions and doctor notes, and gotten many sore hands a feet bandaged. It's so fun to watch how engaged they are in some very long play sessions.
Enjoy some pictures from the week!
A small slate board is a popular sit-spot activity.
We did some measuring on Monday and Tuesday. This crew is using some different measuring sticks to do some comparing. What is taller, shorter, and the same?
A giant die and some numbers makes an active math activity.
