Stirring Our Brew

From freezing cold to unseasonably warm, we've had an eventful week! Halloween energy is in the air - thank you for helping your children come to school as rested as is possible this time of year. And, just to layer on the sleep challenges, don't forget about daylight savings ending this Sunday November 3rd. If you want to get ahead of the hour difference you can start inching your child's bedtime 15 minutes earlier for the next couple of nights.

Here are some highlights from the week :)

A tricky choice on a morning expedition: over or under the log?

We climbed Mt. Everest a couple of times this week! It's the steepest mountain at Guilford Central School, and though you can't tell from the pictures, requires a ROPE to scale up the challenging cliff.

We love cheering for our classmates as they climb.

What to do with leftover pumpkins?

Go bowling, of course!

What great counting practice - how many pine cones did we knock over? How many are still standing?

And speaking of pumpkins, we hope you received the beautiful works of art sent home on Wednesday.

These pumpkins are dressed up in their own Halloween costumes.

On Tuesday we started making some mouse homes for Rebecca, to encourage her to move out of the shed. We did some reading about mouse homes, looked at lots of pictures, and decided that they should have "fluffy things" in them. But first, they need to be painted and beautiful!

And finally...Halloween! Janice, a special visitor, came in and helped paint faces.

So many wild animals roaming around Wildwood Forest on Halloween!

Butterflies...

Frogs...

Cheetahs...("look at my tail!")

A tree-climbing tiger...

It was the perfect opportunity to do some October self-portraits, in Halloween costumes, of course.

We found a spooky Halloween tree that looked like it was extra surprised to see us.

3 out of 10 dressed as Elsa for the Halloween parade! 💖

And for a perfect day-after-Halloween activity Dr. Dan came to visit and help teach us about what it's like to be a vet.

He taught us how to bandage hurt animals...

And we had a great time practicing!

This owl was very hurt.

Ta da!

Have a restful weekend everyone!
