Full of Color

We're starting to wind down here in pre-k, finishing up projects while also maintaining our very predictable rules and routines. We won't have an "official" move-up day for pre-k this year. The kindergarten classroom will look different than it does right now; because of COVID many classrooms are currently set up with very strict spacing in mind. Instead, Ms. Maira has been making regular trips into Wildwood Forest to start to get to know her future students. Check your child's backpacks tomorrow for a letter and questionnaire from Ms. Maira.

A couple of dates to note for the end of the school year.

*Tuesday June 8: Pre-K Cookout in Wildwood Forest, 4:30-6:00

*Friday June 11 is Field Day! There will be bounce houses, slip and slides, and more. Send your child to school with a bathing suit and towel!

*Monday June 14 is the last day of school, with and early dismissal at 11:30.

Enjoy some pictures from the week.

A creative balance board

Cooking, cooking, always cooking!

The water table continues to be a great place to scoop, pour, and experiment with volume.

It was so cold on Friday we got out the winter jackets again! A fire and a cooking project helped warm us up.

Rolling up enchiladas.

Yum!

Lots of painting and art this past week! These two are experimenting with color mixing.

The weekend rain was very welcomed by the creatures in the woods. There were many more salamanders, slugs, and pill bugs to be found on Tuesday!

More color mixing

Learning about birds with a field guide

Ta da!

We did our final self portraits on Tuesday.

Next week we'll work on binding them all together into a book!

A little gardening work - we created some mini garden beds around our bean house and planted pole beans. It'll be so fun to see what they look like in the fall!
