Just a short week here, but so nice to be together. This week we finished our "All Our Welcome" sign, inspired by the sweet book Strictly No Elephants. What a wonderful way for us to welcome everyone into our class; I'm so impressed by the kind and welcoming sentiments of these children!
And now, an opportunity to sign up for TWO school events.
- Family conferences are just around the corner. That means that Friday November 5 and Monday November 8 are early dismissal, with pick up at 11:30 in Wildwood Forest (or by bus, if your child rides the bus). We're doing zoom conferences this year, unless you'd like to meet outside in Wildwood Forest. Please let me know when you sign up here.
- Lastly, though it's been warm this week the cold weather is coming and we're going to start making fires in the coming weeks. We'd love to have YOU (or another family member) come tend a fire for us. Sign up to be a fire tender here.
This week we introduced our "Peace Wands." These are magical tools that help us solve social conflict through a structured process of talking and listening. These two are acting out a scenario for a small group of friends.
All Are Welcome! Everyone is so proud of their work!
There are plenty of leaves and that means leaf piles! Running and jumping is a great activity to help with gross-motor development.
The Pumpkin Factory is open! We love teaching about tools with pumpkins, an easy and soft material for hammering, drilling, and using the screw driver.
Hard at work with their pumpkins
We've started our Forest Jobs - ask your child about them! The "woodpecker" is in charge of a daily counting activity.
On our transition inside after lunch the kiddos love to walk on the "secret" path through the welcome garden.
One of our small groups this week focused on being insect (or animal) detectives. These kiddos are looking for evidence of animals and writing down what they find.
A perfectly camouflaged frog! Good find!
This measuring tape is a favorite tool from the Inquiry Basket.
