Winter in Spring

Wow! What a cold end to the week! We were so happy to be back together, and these kiddos jumped right back into their play. This week was all about TREES. We learned a little bit about the different parts of trees, did some exploring in our forest looking for interesting tree parts, and sang songs and did art with trees and tree parts.

*TOMORROW Saturday April 30 - GCS Day in the Dirt! Join us for a garden work party - drop in from 9:00am-noon. See the school newsletter for details.

*Saturday May 7th - GREEN UP DAY! Pick up trash bags at the town office and beautify a Guilford roadside. Details in this week's school newsletter. 

*Remember, no school for pre-k on Friday June 3rd for incoming pre-k visiting day.

We found some beautiful spring ephemerals in the forest.

We made "Tree Journals" on Monday and had a great time using them at our sit spots.

We also took our journals on an expedition searching for tree parts. Look at this upturned tree we found!

It was so fun to look closely at the roots, and climb on them!

We had fun making tree faces with kindergarten buddies on Wednesday.

And when it was sooooo cold and windy on Thursday and Friday we took small groups to the classroom for some inside play.
