What a beautiful week! This week our focus was on the question What animals live in trees? We did some exploration, some art and some reading, and a LOT of playing.
Don't forget that tomorrow is Green Up Day from 8:00am - 5:00pm! You can find Cyrus's family at the town office handing out trash bags and granola bars. Help beautify our roadsides and take care of our town! See the school newsletter for more details.
Enjoy pictures from our eventful week!
Playing in the newly constructed "house"
Kristine brought materials to make dandelion play dough. It takes a lot of patience to wait for your turn to measure and stir. Cooking with kids is such a great activity that helps develop so many skills!
These two spent a long time together creating a small world for their fairies.
Some counting and number games.
Counting with a friend is even more fun!
Working up her courage to jump off the stump!
We had a lot of fun with clay this week - these kiddos are working on a nest FULL of eggs.
A productive lot in the woodworking area.
The rain led to some good puddle play.
We made some great tree art today. First we created a giant stencil...
We taped it over some fabric on a tree,
rolled it with a paint brayer...
Voila! Beautiful tree prints!
This industrious team is trying to move the giant rock!
Farmer Sarah came to plant wheat in a raised bed with the class on Thursday afternoon. We'll harvest it in the summer and use it for bread or pancakes in the fall!
A forest expedition looking for animal homes led to many interesting discoveries. This kiddo draws his observations in a journal.
Have a great weekend everyone!
