Our countdown calendar isn’t for the end of the year, but for how many days until our chicks hatch! Ten days to go...
As you can imagine it’s been a heavy week to be in schools. The events in Texas leave us all unbelievably heartbroken, anxious, and unsteady. We haven’t talked with students about the events in Texas, but have focused on extra love for our each other, our community, and ourselves. See Mr. G’s note in this week’s school newsletter for specifics about how the Texas tragedy relates to us here at GCS.
Summer is almost here, and it’s staying light out so much later. But don’t forget that your kiddos still need a good solid sleep every night - doctors recommend between 11-12 hours!
We made a delicious salad dressing today that students LOVED. You should have seen them gobbling up those fresh greens! Here’s the 1-2-3 recipe I promised to share: 1 part maple syrup, 2 parts vinegar of your choice (we used apple cider vinegar), 3 parts olive oil. Shake it up and eat!
Enjoy some pictures from the week!
Today was day 11...
We harvested greens from the back garden.
Spring art projects are so much fun. These kindergarten and pre-k buddies had a great time with tissue paper and spray bottles.
A tricky game of catch!
See saw buddies
We had fun exploring garden soil with Farmer Sarah on Tuesday.
A VERY popular game right now is a silly version of "Duck Duck Goose." Ask your child how it goes!
A creative geoboard portrait
We had a great time printing with celery ends, leftover from the healthy snack program.
Beautiful buddy painting
A hot air balloon, created by this determined kiddo.
This busy kiddo picked up SO MANY pieces of trash in the forest today - what a helper!
