We teachers felt particularly grateful for your children this week - their joy and exuberance keep us smiling and laughing all the time. And we've loved getting time to meet with families. As always, we'll keep the conversations about your amazing children going, but thanks for taking the time to come in for conferences.
Our recent Kindness Curriculum work has focused on both forgiveness and gratitude. Specifically, we've been talking about what to do when you make a mistake. Mistakes are okay, and happen to everyone! And in pre-k, if we make a mistake that hurts someone else, we use the phrase "I didn't mean it, are you okay?" This phrase offers so much more than a blanket sorry, and can be followed up with "what do you need?"
Mr. Damon brought us to the art room for an exciting version of "The Ants Go Marching".
The Space Needle, in Guilford

Making a road for a friend
We worked on understanding the concept of "voting" on Tuesday by choosing which book to read at story time.
Four in a fort
The woodworking table is open!
The children noticed right away that hammering through wood is much more difficult than hammering through pumpkins.
But they persisted!
If you have any old scrap wood (non pressure treated) send it in!
We worked on finishing up our Rebecca Mouse floor book, now titled "Rebecca Mouse's Dream".
These two were excited to help sew up the binding.
Little acts of kindness go a long way - let's keep 'em going!
