Happy pre-k Solstice week! We've had such a fun week learning songs, making lanterns and other solstice decorations, and thinking of ways to make this time of year a little more bright.
If you're looking for last minute holiday gift ideas for your kiddo, here are some pre-k teacher suggestions:
- child scissors (and things to cut up!)
- glue sticks or Elmer's glue
- colored masking tape
- pipe cleaners
- kids hole punchers
- a new book
- self adhesive bandages (thanks for the introduction to this most fun material, Dr. Dan!)
These items are all lots of fun, and great for your child's learning and development.
Enjoy the story of our week, in pictures of course!
The rain slowed down to a drizzle for the perfect amount of time on Wednesday.
This hearty group enjoyed Knuffle Bunny Too with Amber.
After reading Sun Bread we made our own!
Getting ready for the Solstice Celebration - smashing up the icy walkway.
Buddies working to sand the slippery path
Some new marble ramp exploration
Needle felting with Mx. Nina
Your child might have a needle felted treasure in their coat pocket - ask them about it!
Some collaborative tuba playing with Mr. Damon
We're working on creating a school-wide chain of kindness: every act of kindness we see we write onto a strip of paper, and add it to the chain. These kiddos are walking our pre-k chain down to the cafeteria - you should peek in to see the incredible length of the school chain!
Making some wrapping paper for a solstice gift coming your way next week ;)
Thanks for helping to create such a beautiful evening, a little light in the darkness. 💛💛💛
Have a great weekend!
