What a fun snowy week in pre-k! We've been busy planning for our Solstice Celebration next Thursday (5:00pm, hope you can make it!), reading multiple versions of The Mitten, and exploring the new winter wonderland outside.
Check out these pictures for more details about the week:
Here we are, setting up some experiments. What happens when we put water in containers and leave it over night?
I bet you already know. :) But these kiddos were delighted to find ICE the next day!
Otter slide! Our little sledding hill is so much fun.
Everything feels fresh and new with snow on the ground.
We have zipper helpers! Kiddos who finish putting their winter clothes on quickly get to help others with their zippers.
Art projects abound - these children are creating beautiful papers that were later turned into snowflakes. Check out our classroom windows the next time you're in!
A little sensory paint exploration...
The snow was so wet and sticky on Thursday - perfect for building.
The Space Needle is back, and taller than ever.
We opened up the Shadow Puppet Theater on Friday with a singing rendition of "The Mitten".
Then kiddos had a chance to tell their own stories.
Aaaand...we had our first fire on Friday! Before having a fire outside we did some practice inside.
What a treat to have a fire! It made outdoor snack and lunch possible.
And for a special treat we cut up some apples and sprinkled them with cinnamon and sugar, then cooked them over the fire. Yum!
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
