It was a beautiful week with beautiful snow! Highlights include enchiladas over the fire, an ongoing bird feeder creation station, January self portraits with a focus on skin color (check them out, hanging in the hallway), snow mermaids, and eating the rainbow with Farmer Sarah. Look in your child's backpack for a folder with artwork, a February menu, and a short article about an approach to asking questions while you read stories aloud with your kiddo. Reading aloud with your child is an important way to develop language and literacy skills, and asking questions of your child while you read is a great way to engage them in the story. Here's a link to the article, if you'd rather have a digital format. Dialogic Reading

Careful focus on January self-portraits
We're meeting with Farmer Sarah every week to eat a different color of the rainbow. These kiddos are decorating our food rainbow. Ask your child about the orange foods they ate this week!
Some new sand in the sensory table, along with the ever-popular ocean animals made for some happy kids this week!
A little quiet buddy drawing time
