Slow to Warm

It feels like it should be spring, but in usual Vermont fashion it's still so cold outside! Thanks for continuing to send snow pants. This week we tackled some cooking projects, making maple granola for the entire school's March Taste Test, and baking muffins for our Friday Pre-k Cafe. Ask your child about all the cooking!

Some of you have noticed the plethora of new games on the shelves above the heater in our vestibule. With a small grant and the help of academic support teacher Sandra Cortes, we've created a Primary Wing Games Library. We hope you'll join us at 12:30 pick up on Friday April 11 for our grand opening! Official invitation to come, but save the date.

Enjoy some pictures from the last two weeks, in no particular order...

We created a bulletin board outside the classroom honoring Wangari Maathai, Kenyan environmentalist and Nobel Peace Prize winner. These kiddos are working on the "fabric" for her dress.

The woods and field have had some nice puddles...

This one had a giant squid and shark in it! One kid kept saying "really, I felt something move!"

Mixing up some granola

Off to the kitchen!

Some kids helped count out all the cups for every kid in the school to taste a sample of the granola.

The grand opening of Pre-K Cafe with granola on the menu was a hit! We even had a dog customer.

Our March self portraits are hanging up in the hallway!

The paint in the shed has finally thawed, and the easel is open again.

This little penguin is waiting for her fish snacks.

Snow?!?

Round two of pre-k cafe, this time with pumpkin muffins. Here's the chef, plating everything up.

Our excited customer is impressed by the expert water pouring.

Kids took turns being customers, servers, and chefs.

Have a great weekend!
