Very Big Tiny Challenge

We've had such a great week exploring our new high powered digital microscope! Along with 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades, pre-k is lucky to be a part of the WSESD "Very Big Tiny Challenge." If we complete 5 challenges the microscope is ours to keep! Our first challenge was to collectively decide upon our 3 rules for ways we will treat tiny lives. See pictures below to find out what the class came up with.

Looking closely at an acorn cap, drawing what we see.

These little scientists have so many great observations!

Starting to learn how to use a saw...

We had such excellent mud on Thursday! This group built a bridge across this very deep puddle.

Then they spent about an hour trying to drain the puddle...

So much mud, time to wash off!

Meanwhile, another very important project happened this week. On Monday we discovered a big rock in the ground!
