The weeks continue to fly, with so much fun and so much learning happening in pre-k.
A focus of our recent work has been working on an understanding of the word "variety," and the concept that there is so much difference in this world, from flowers to rocks, to snacks we eat, to hair and skin color. We've read books that highlight the beautiful variety of people in our world, done scavenger hunts, and really started to incorporate the idea of variety and into our daily conversations. On Wednesday we had a wonderful visit from our buddies at Oak Grove pre-k. The class was SO welcoming and kind, and really enjoyed playing with a new variety of kids. We're so excited to visit them at their school in Brattleboro in a couple of weeks!
Another recent focus of our energy is songwriting. Each child has a songwriting book that we're using to record song lyrics, and next week we have 5 different local musicians coming to add music to their lyrics. Stay tuned!
AND, save the date for May 28th Arts Night - pre-k will host a sing-along at 5:00 in Wildwood Forest where we'll share our songs with you!
Enjoy some fun pictures of your kids LOVING the mud this week :)
